Educational animations from the NDSU Virtual Cell Animations project.
Energy Consumption: An Overview
NDSU VCell Production's animation "Energy Consumption: An Overview". For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations.
Biological organisms are interrelated through the resources they share during their life cycles. This animation gives an overview of the different cellular processes responsible for generating and consuming some of these key resources, and how they are exchanged from one organism to another.

Glycolysis: The Reactions
Переглядів 512 тис.10 років тому
NDSU VCell Production's animation "Glycolysis: The Reactions". For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations. Glycolysis oxidizes one molecule of glucose into two molecules of pyruvate through a series of 10 enzymatic reactions. This animation takes a closer look at those reactions and the enzymes that catalyze them.
Glycolysis: An Overview

NDSU VCell Production's animation "Glycolysis: An Overview". For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations. Glycolysis is a series of 10 reactions that converts sugars, like glucose, into 3-carbon molecules called pyruvate. This animation provides an overview of the energy consumed and produced by the pathway.
Meiosis
Переглядів 526 тис.11 років тому
NDSU VCell Production's animation "Meiosis". For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations. Meiosis is a type of cell division involved in sexual reproduction. It occurs in all plants and animals that reproduce by way of gametes or spores. This animation walks through the stages of meiosis, illustrating how a diploid germ line cell divides into four haploid gametes.
Plant Nutrition: Mineral Absorption (Part One)
Переглядів 428 тис.12 років тому
This video looks at how soybean plants affect their soil environment to increase mineral availability, specifically in respect to iron.
Mitosis
Переглядів 3,5 млн12 років тому
NDSU VCell Production's animation "Mitosis". For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations. Mitosis is the process by which the chromosomes in the nucleus of a cell are divided into into two new nuclei. This animation illustrates how the stages of mitosis progress and eventually lead to the formation of two new cells.
Regulated Transcription
Переглядів 354 тис.13 років тому
NDSU Virtual Cell Animations Project animation "Regulated Transcription". For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations. Gene expression is controlled in many different ways. When proteins from outside a cell signal for a specific gene to be transcribed, it is known as regulated transcription. This animation illustrates how a protein like insulin can trigger a regulated transcriptio...
Insulin Signaling (Signal Pathways)
Переглядів 360 тис.14 років тому
NDSU Virtual Cell Animations Project animation 'Insulin Signaling'. For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations. When high levels of glucose enter the blood stream, insulin is released by beta cells in the pancreas. Insulin then initiates a number of signal pathways in specific muscle and fat cells. This takes a look at the signal pathway responsible for allowing those cells to ra...
Protein Recycling (Signal Pathways)
Переглядів 32 тис.14 років тому
NDSU Virtual Cell Animations Project animation 'Protein Recycling'. For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations. Certain intercellular proteins are needed to respond to specific extracellular signals. This movie covers how such proteins can be stored, recycled and kept available during the periods of time in between the arrival of such extracellular signals.
Through the Virtual Cell
Переглядів 341 тис.15 років тому
We invite you to explore our virtual cell and the processes contained within it by taking a guided virtual tour. Inside you will be introduced to many of the basic functions going on within the cell as well as the intracellular locations where these events occur many of which can be seen in more detail by exploring our animation collection. NDSU Virtual Cell Animations project animation "Throug...
Regulated Secretion
Переглядів 62 тис.15 років тому
NDSU Virtual Cell Animations Project animation 'Regulated Secretion'. For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations. Proteins can be secreted, or transferred out of a cell, by multiple pathways. Regulated secretion is one of these processes. In regulated secretion proteins are secreted from a cell in large amounts when a specific signal is detected by the cell. The example used in t...
Constitutive Secretion

NDSU Virtual Cell Animations Project animation 'Constitutive Secretion'. For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations Proteins can be secreted, or transferred out of a cell, by multiple pathways. Constitutive secretion is one of these processes. In constitutive secretion proteins are secreted from a cell continuously, regardless of external factors or signals. This pathway is also ...
Protein Modification (Golgi)
Переглядів 276 тис.16 років тому
NDSU Virtual Cell Animations Project animation 'Protein Modification (Golgi)'. For more information please see vcell.ndsu.edu/animations Protein modification is the process by which some proteins from the rough ER are altered within the Golgi apparatus in order to be targeted to their final destinations.

why is the intro so unnecessarily spooky
Very helpful video, makes it easier to understand
This video was made when I was 3 years old but I'm watching it as a college student!
Wow the old comments i hope they r doing well in their life 😮
tqqqq💙!!
I want to be a biologist when I reincarnate
Omg i have tears of joy, ncert is driving me nuts 😢 thank u so muchhhh
Kon kon 2024 month March me dekh Raha hai Paytm ki tarah like karo😂😂😂😂😂❤❤🎉🎉😅😅😅

And realizing it’s lgbtq
No information aboit microbial life 😂
very nice everything is clear ❤
16 years old video 😮 I was 1 year old at that time 😅
2024 haha
Really it's a awesome vdo..... Literally I just struggled with this topic.... But you make this crystal clear in just a minute.... Thankyou sooooo much
OMGGGGG THANK YOUUU
I share this video with all of my intro bio students and it is truly a God-send, as is this entire channel.
Absolutely astounding.
Even this video is not detailed, it helped me to understand the basis of translation. Thank you❤
Super❤
awesome
I am watching after 15 years 😮
Thank you for this video 😌so helpful 😊
Very good❤
thank you for thisssss
- translation is the synthesis of proteins - translation initiation begins when the small subunit of the ribosome attaches and move to the translation initiation site - tRNA contains an anticodon which complements the mRNA codon (first is typically AUG) - the large subunit combines with the small subunit to make the P site and the A site - the first tRNA occupies th P site, the second tRNA enters the A site and is complementary - the first tRNA's protein is transferred to the second (linked) - the first tRNA exits - the ribosome moves along the mRNA - when a stop codon is encountered in the A site, a release factor enters and translation is terminated.
Finally I understand the process 😮💨
